We are with the Haute Couture litter on Saturday morning. Ripple’s looking a little raggedy. She was outside and actually playing ball with me for a little while this morning and it was raining so she’s got herself a little bit muddy and wet, but she did come back in and rolled herself all over the place, trying to get dry for the puppies. You can see that blue collar, the boy and the brown sable girl, the yellow collar, are both and they’re nursing right now.

Over here, we have pink collar girl. She’s just thinking about making her way over and you can see some of her beautiful markings. Those are what we call the phantom markings, the lighter coloring. She is perhaps a chocolate phantom or she may be a chocolate sable phantom. If she’s a sable, her color will change and lighten as time goes on. In  any event, she will not be a dark, chocolate color as she matures. That chocolate will fade out.

Then back here, underneath the pink
rail is miss red collar and you can see that she is quite a different shade already. She is definitely a sable girl and she is also a phantom. However, as time goes on, she will clear out as what we … the term we use. It’s the breeder terminology for her coat lightening. Her coat will clear out and lighten and she will be a caramel. This phantom markings will become less visible as she gets older.Their beautiful. The puppies are all doing well. Ripple’s doing just fabulously. Everybody’s happy, healthy, gaining weight and they’re cute as buttons.
