Blonde Brownies are 6 Weeks Old

Puppy Update

Welcome to the Blonde Brownies six-week update! These little guys have come a long way, and we are so excited to talk about their developments.

Claire, Renald and Taylor each do their own independent assessments through the week to ensure we have a clear picture of each puppy. This helps us make the best decisions for allocation to our families. Next week we will do more formal assessments.

The puppies have all mastered the use of the doggie door and are doing well being outside. We bring them into the house separately and let them spend time alone where they can’t see or hear the other dogs to get them ready for going home. Next week they will be going for their wellness exams at the vet and we will be updating you with how that goes.

Green

This little guy used to be very vocal, the leader of the group. He was very outgoing and always trying new things. He also got frustrated easily and would let us all know about. But he has had quite the transformation, he is now easily one of the more affectionate members of the group. He is very attuned to people, always runs to greet us when we walk in. He rarely barks or growls in frustration anymore. He doesn’t get upset nearly as easily and is very interested in cuddling. He also plays very well with children and adores the water. He is likely going to mature to be roughly the same size as Spirit, anywhere from 36-41 pounds. He is a sturdy, gentle and affectionate dog. He has become very well balanced.

Purple

She has always been a confident and independent puppy. She is happy to spend time on her own and doesn’t need to be with her littermates. She also doesn’t need to be around people, but does love being with them. She is very adventurous, exploring new things outside. She will go and look under rocks, behind corners and find whatever there is to find. She adores the water, always splashing and having a great time. She makes great eye-contact and is very attentive to people, which is a good indicator for being easy to train. She focuses and pays attention to people, which is a strong and positive characteristic. She is friends with Green Collar and Grey Collar, they are often found playing together. As one of the smaller puppies in the litter, she will likely mature to only 34-36 pounds.

Blue

This little one is our most affectionate and sensitive puppy. He adores being snuggled closely. He is very intuitive and gentle. Peyton particularly loves Blue because of how gentle and sweet he is. He will do well with an older family, or one with young children, due to his gentle spirit. He also has no issue with telling his brothers and sisters off. He does bark a bit, but not to excess. He barks while he plays or if he feels he hasn’t gotten enough cuddles lately. He is good friends with Peach and will likely mature to roughly the size of Spirit.

Yellow

This little one is tiny and quiet. She never makes a sound. She is incredibly stable and calm. She never gets rattled or frustrated. She gets along with all dogs and people that she meets. She isn’t outgoing at all but isn’t shy. She is very confident just doesn’t feel the need to put herself out there. She will calmly move aside if someone is pushing in for the food pan. She is very good with children and older people due to her calm, gentle nature.

Grey

Feisty, fierce little lady. She is the smallest puppy in the litter and is very outgoing. She is confident and brave. Nothing deters her from standing up for herself. She is very independent and doesn’t allow anyone to boss her around. She will regularly tell off her littermates with furious little growls. She doesn’t hesitate to keep everyone in line. She loves people but has a strong preference for children. She is extremely affectionate, loves giving kisses and being picked up. She also loves playing in the water.

Brown

His whole world is people, he is very affectionate and sensitive. He adores being with people much more than he does with the other dogs. He will play with them and gets along just fine with other dogs but he prefers people. He is very gentle and cuddly. He is also extremely intelligent and intuitive. He is a lovely, well-balanced dog. He works well with both older people and children because he is just so gentle. He is confident yet reserved. I don’t think I have ever heard him bark, he is just a quiet, calm and happy dog. His best friend is Yellow Collar. We expect him to mature to about 36-37 pounds.

Peach

This little one has an exciting new adventure awaiting her! She has been selected by a breeder in Spokane to be a breeding prospect girl. Part of the reason for that is her temperament and her stature. Her brown and white parti coloring is simply stunning. She is very reserved, calm and easy going. She adores people, children and water. She is just a very great little girl. Like Fisher, she will also be leaving us a little sooner than the rest of the litter. Taylor will fly with her to Spokane about 10 days before the rest of the litter goes home to their families.

Black

Fisher will be leaving us sooner than the other puppies, he will be going with his new trainer to start the intense Certified Service Dog training. He was chosen mostly because of how well attuned he is to people. He doesn’t have much interest in other dogs aside from playing occasionally. He gets all his gratification and all his comfort from people. He is incredibly calm and balanced. Very sweet and gentle. He is going to do amazing and we are proud that one of our dogs have been chosen for the program.
