At Van Isle Doodles we take care to thoroughly test our potential breeding labradoodles for genetic health and temperament. Our confidence in the quality of our labradoodles allows us to offer a three year Health Warranty rather than the standard two year warranty on all our labradoodle puppies for sale.

Our labradoodles are tested through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals – OFA – for both hip and elbow soundness.

OFA examinations are done by x-ray by a specially trained veterinarian. The x-rays are then examined by OFA specialist and the labradoodle is given a ranking from Dysplastic through to Excellent as compared to other labradoodles who have been tested. The database continues to grow as more and more Australian Labradoodle breeders offer new labradoodles to be tested.

Our labradoodless are also examined by a canine opthamologist to ensure their eyes are not in any way compromised. We continue to have our labradoodles’ eyes examined annually during their breeding career. This type of certification is referred to as a CERF examination.

Our labrdoodles are registered with the Australian Labradoodle Association of America (ALAA) and we exceed the minimum health testing requirements mandated by the organization. When choosing labradoodle studs we ensure they have met the same threshold of health testing. Our Silver Paw designation from ALAA recognizes our enhanced level of health testing.

We carefully select our breeding labradoodles for excellence in temperament as well. By dedicating hours of attention to our labradoodles we foster continued temperament development. All our labradoodles live as full members of our household. The labradoodles sleep in our bedroom and spend all their time with us during the day engaged in a variety of different activities to keep them in prime physical and mental health. Unlike some labradoodle breeders, we do not re-home our breeding labradoodles at retirement – they are true members of our family and live with us forever.
