Whether or not to boost your labradoodle puppy’s vaccinations on an annual basis is a topic of debate. Research has showen that in most cases dogs are over vaccinated and their immune systems have suffered as a result.

Owners have a new tool to help them make a more informed decision with respect to whether to boost or not.

The titer test is a simple blood test. The results indicate what level of protection your dog has for various risks. While there is no single vaccination protocol that will protect every dog for all diseases, the titer test allows for a more individualized strategy when combating disease. Each dog has a unique set of circumstances based on current health, geographic location, age, genetic inheritance and lifestyle.

Along with our Australian Labradoodle puppies, we also own a pet resort – Paw Prints Pet Resort. One of the requirements for our pet resort is a current titer test report. We prefer this over proof of annual vaccinations as we believe the titer test gives much more accurate information. Because we have labradoodle puppies for sale from time to time, it is vital that our guests have the best protection possible.

Many boarding/daycare facilities have a blanket policy requiring current vaccinations. A full titer report gives you the information to prove your dog’s immunity without necessarily having had an annual booster.

Many people are not familiar with titer testing but once made aware of the option, most chose to go that route as it is much more beneficial for their beloved pet.

Australian Labradoodle breeders go to great lengths to protect the health of their breed and titer testing is recommended by almost all labradoodle breeders.
