On Thursday, September 21st, 2017, Oceana presented us with 8 incredible puppies from her honeymoon with Monty (Sardis Park Montgomery). We initially thought we were all finished with 7 puppies but Oceana pulled a fast one on us and delivered an 8th puppy when we weren’t looking!
In total we have 5 males and 3 females and a big variety in patterns with everyone being brown as their base colour. Although Monty has a considerable amount of white flashing, Oceana is a solid chocolate and we were unaware she carried any ability to produce any sort of white, never mind the parti pups she presented us with.
My jaw was on the floor when I delivered the first puppy and she was a full blown chocolate parti pup! It was a very exciting moment! After that we had some tuxedo style marked puppies as well as some solid brown pups with white flashing on their heads, faces, necks and chests. All in all it is a stunning litter in terms of patterns.
Oceana did a fabulous job and her delivery was quick and easy and a lot of the credit for that goes to her terrific guardians, Pat Campbell and Terry Barber. Oceana enjoys a life full of regular activity and luxury on gorgeous Salt Spring Island and it is the care and devotion Pat and Terry give to Oceana that had her arrive in fabulous condition when it was time for her whelp her puppies.
Our guardians are gold to us and we are so grateful to enjoy a wonderful relationship with so many amazing families who partner with us in our breeding program. We find our dogs who live with our guardian families all enjoy so much care, love and devotion from their families that they come to us as perfectly adjusted, in fabulous condition and happy as clams! We can’t thank our guardians enough for all they do for our dogs and the contribution they make to the Van Isle program.
Our plan is to retain two females from this litter and as such we will be looking for guardian homes for these puppies.
