Ocean’s puppies are out of the nest and into the nursery.  These puppies were ready to get out and stretch their legs almost immediately after opening their eyes last week.  So, we set up an area for them in our crowded nursery and now they have lots of room to run, play and explore.

The puppies have also started to learn to drink Goat’s milk out of a pan this week.  Some of them still just look at the pan and wonder what it is but about half of them already have it figured out and know to lap it up.

The puppies are in a higher than average xpen because Mama Oceana is like a deer and can easily leap 3 to 3.5 feet from standing still.  We don’t mind that she wants to jump out to get a break from her puppies but if she jumps back in she could easily hurt one of them.  So, her x pen is 4 feet high and even Oceana can’t scale that!

The puppies are starting to use their voices now and while having their photos taken this week, several of them barked and growled at the camera strap swinging around.  Their baby voices are just the sweetest things ever.
