Marvelous Mix Up Week 2

Everyone has their eyes on the Marvelous Mix Up litter as they turn 2 weeks old today and HAVE OPENED THEIR EYES! We can’t stop staring at them staring back at us! Although the puppies can’t see much yet, we certainly enjoy gazing into their lovely eyes. It is almost like a second birth when the puppies open their eyes as it seems their individual personalities start to show at this point.

The pups are all continuing to grow and achieve new milestones almost daily. They are now able to totter about and although they are still fairly unsteady on their 4 limbs, they can negotiate their way to Mama Peanut quite quickly and efficiently when it’s time to get in place at the milk bar.

The puppies have also all had their nails clipped now and not a single bit of fuss was made by anyone during the process. Peanut is always very appreciative when those sharp claws are taken down as they are tough on the tender skin of the milk bar.

We expect to give the Marvelous Mix Up puppies another big life event in the next few days and that will be to move them out of the nest and into the nursery. Bijoux’s Milky Way/All Blacks puppies moved into the nursery this afternoon so the Marvelous Mix Up puppies will have lots of company. [/one_third]

The two litters are kept entirely separate and they are not able to see one another but once their ears start to open they will be able to hear one another. Eventually, when they are older, then the 2 litters will get together and experience life as one big group.
