There are now 20 little Labradoodle puppy eyes staring at us from the Chocolate Milk litter. Each and every one of these beauties has their eyes open. Well Hello world! Labradoodles are the same as all other puppies in that despite the fact the puppies have their eyes open now, they still really can’t see much. Vague shapes and shadows are about all that they actually “see” at this point but it’s a lot more than they saw before those eyes opened up.
The puppies also have made some big strides in terms of mobility. While there are still several wobbles, moving around is much easier for the puppies now. Managing to have all 4 legs firmly planted underneath themselves is still a challenge for each puppy but it does happen briefly from time to time. Walking is a bit of a process where the puppy works very hard to get their legs under them and then after about 2 steps forward over they topple. By next week though they will have it mastered and be able to really scoot around.

Oceana continues to do a great job of caring for the Chocolate Milk Labradoodle puppies. She is eating well and enjoying brief periods of exercise chasing the ball – her favourite activity. She keeps all the puppies perfectly clean and has started to teach them some manners. Oceana also ensures that everyone gets along and has their fair share of the milk bar spoils.
Next week we will likely have some puppies with the ability to hear and eliminate independently. I’m pretty sure that Oceana will be happy when that day arrives! Once the puppies are able to hear, move around on all 4 legs fairly well and eliminate on their own we will move them into the nursery.
The puppies are gaining weight nicely and their coats gleam. Oceana and Bruno have given us beautiful fleece coated puppies for this litter. We love the rainbow of colours that we have from cream through to the black and white parti girl. The puppies are all nice and solidly built with gorgeous, blocky heads. We couldn’t be more pleased with the beauties our two angels produced for us.
