Shake It Up - 7 weeks - Allocation process

The Shake It Up pups are seven weeks old already and getting ready to go home to their forever homes. This weeks assessments come from our assistant, Taylors, perspective. The allocation process involves all of our perspectives and notes along the way, to help ensure our families are matched with the best puppy for their needs. We take the comments from all the people who interact with the puppies, Taylor, Pat, Claire and Reynald. We take those notes and create a little dossier of each puppy. We also get each family to complete a homework assignment. Then we take the family’s answers and compare to the notes on each puppy. That is the process for how we come up with the perfect match between family and puppy.

Puppy Updates

Pink

She is a very sweet, outgoing, sassy, affectionate and playful little girl. She loves children and nothing makes her happier than keeping her humans happy. She is one of the first ones to run out and say hi to everybody.

Dark Blue

This little girl is a social butterfly who is very sweet. She listens well and is a real people pleaser. She is a leader in the group and is very comfortable when alone. She doesn’t get concerned when she is separated from the other puppies. She is affectionate, great with children with a mellow calm temperament.

Light Blue

Mr Light Blue and Orange are best buds. They are constantly together and very similar in temperament. Quiet, calm and relaxed with a big heart. He loves the outdoors and playing with kids. Very affectionate and thoughtful puppy. Loves being picked up and snuggled.

Yellow

She is our big girl in the litter with beautiful little eyebrows. She is extremely sensitive. In this sense that means she is very intuitive and aware of peoples feelings. She is always aware of her environment and how people are reacting, she responds quickly to the feel of the room. She is very affectionate, loyal and playful. She is fairly quiet and prefers to be close to the pack.

Orange

This little girl is so similar to Light Blue that they seem like the same puppy sometimes. They are always together, outside playing and rolling around in the dirt. Love bringing their toys outside and chasing each other around like mad. Orange especially runs straight for Peyton (our young socializer) and enjoys spending time with her.

Purple

Oh this little girl has personality in spades. She is very much a leader, very confident. Is is very bonded with her siblings and prefers playing with them over toys or being on her own. She loves to cuddle, likes going out to explore and is a huge fan of kids. She is a great communicator and has no problem letting us know exactly when it is time for a cuddle, which is pretty regularly. She loves to snuggle and cuddle and has a very dynamic personality.

Grey

She is one of the smaller puppies, but is quite feisty. She is quiet and prefers to do her own thing, very independent. She will sleep separately and goes off on her own to chew a bone. She enjoys running around outside, exploring and finding new areas. She has a great personality, is very excited and enthusiastic. She is also very affectionate but unlike some of her peers, she doesn’t seek out attention but is quite happy when she is given it.

Black

One of the big bruisers of the group, it’s a toss up between Yellow, Brown and this guy. He is a huge cuddle bug, very quiet and sensitive. He is vocal when he wants something or feels he is being ignored. He has no problem asking for attention. He is one of the first to come out and say hi to whoever is in his field of vision. A bit of a follower, he prefers to watch and see what everyone is doing before joining. He is starting to gain some more confidence lately and is coming out of his shell more. He is the gentle giant of the group.

Peach

One of the smaller puppies, but much like Grey is also fearless. She loves everybody and is very adaptable. Outgoing and adventurous while at the same time extraordinarily gentle and quiet. She is a big cuddler and very fond of children. She likes to play with the other dogs but is comfortable on her own as well. She loves being outside, is very observant, receptive and loyal. She is an awesome little girl.

Red

This little one is very adventurous, loves to be outside and around people. She is fine being on her own and exploring. She is quiet most of the time but can be very mischievous, but will always come back and check in with her people. So even though she will head off for her own explorations, she never goes completely out of sight. She always checks back to make sure she knows where her people are. A very nice quality, will make training recall much easier.

Brown

This gentle giant is highly sensitive, he is very aware of his surroundings and responds to the atmosphere in the room. If you are upset, this guy is going to understand that right away. If you are happy, he will recognize that. He picks up on tension in the room, very intuitive. He is also very affectionate and loves to snuggle. He loves to be held and cuddled. He enjoys children and gets along well with people. He is a soft, devoted little fellow.
