Beau

Beau arrived at Van Isle somewhat unexpectedly and very quickly made it clear that life with him was going to be anything but dull. Bright, curious and endlessly enthusiastic, Beau approaches every moment as though it might be the best thing that has ever happened to him. That positive energy has been wonderfully contagious. He has brought a sense of vitality and optimism into the entire household and has a remarkable ability to make an ordinary day feel more interesting simply because he is so delighted to be part of it.

For all that enthusiasm, Beau is also an extraordinarily affectionate dog. Several times a day he will simply flop his entire body onto one of us for one of his hugs, as though getting as close as physically possible is the only reasonable option. When he sleeps, his head is invariably resting on my lap, my leg or at the very least my foot. He wants connection, not just proximity, and that combination of exuberance and tenderness has made him very easy to love.
